We make no secret of the fact that we use WordPress as a construction platform for all the websites we build. But what does that really mean for you and your business? Here we discuss why WordPress is always our chosen platform – and how that benefits our clients both now and for years to come.
WordPress is good for
As WordPress is the driving force behind over 60% of websites currently on the internet, it’s naturally been constructed over the years to be incredibly Google-friendly. Google loves WordPress because it’s a recognisable format, a ‘safe bet’ – it’s built and optimised to work in cohesion with the search engine. WordPress is also easy to use for SEO specialists – and even users themselves. Various plug-ins allow you to monitor your site’s efficacy and add extra functionality as required. It’s also easily linked to, Google Analytics and other useful partners.
WordPress is user-friendly
Not all businesses want (or can afford to) pass over all maintenance to theircompany. In fact some of our clients have to post daily updates and make regular changes to their websites, as is the nature of their business. With this in mind it’s both pointless and frustrating for clients to have a website built on a platform which is impossible to use for anyone who isn’t a trained developer. WordPress is widely recognised as one of (if not the) most user-friendly web platforms available. Its simple to understand interface makes posting blogs and making changes to copy and layout relatively quick and simple, with plenty of advice and tutorials available online to help users to come up to speed with how WordPress works.
WordPress is versatile and innovative from a developer perspective
This is another great thing about WordPress (from a tech perspective) – it’s malleable, it can be manipulated and modified. This means that developers can create plugins and adapt the platform to suit their needs.
Expanding WordPress capabilities
We’ve been working with WordPress for some time now – and as code developers first and theme-tweakers second we understand how to manipulate WordPress to create unique sites with excellent functionality. But we found ourselves wanting more from the platform – to push it to its limits. This is why we conceived our very own creative plugin which enabled us to give our graphic designers greater control over the appearance of the site and navigation without using code. This allows our designers and our developers to work together more easily – resulting in enhanced user experience through slicker, more contemporary web design with cutting-edge functionality behind it.
