Hi Search and More,
Arrival Saturday in St Omer where all the teams met, some of the cars were well dressed and a lot of effort went into preparing them for the best dressed vehicle. You can check motoscape site for the winner. There are also pictures of all the cars and fancy dress including ours, very poor attempt not had time that’s our excuse.
Day 1– Set off from St Omer to Koblenz in Germany about 350 miles very tiring we arrived late at the hotel due to problems with our car but we covered 4 countries. Our host arranged for us to attend a beer and wine festival it was the last night of a 12 day festival finishing with a spectacular fire work display. All teams are now into it and are very friendly and one inebriated.
Day 2– Monday Koblenz to Feldkirch Austria we receive our instructions at 7.45 each morning including hotels and best route also our, daily challenges which won you prize money. The drive, today, was very picturesque along the Rhine Valley and through Germany to Austria via Switzerland, again a long and trying day but still going and my car did not like the hills in the Black Forrest.
Day 3– Tuesday car not to sound took an easy route to Bergamot in Italy missed going over the Alps, we included Lichtenstein as well at the start of the day. 200 miles today tomorrow of to Venice. Photos to follow tonight hopefully. Yesterday first retirement courtesy of the German police. There was a car dressed as a tank (see prize winner on motoscape) but the car was confiscated and the guys were flown home!
