What’s a Twitter Card?
Essentially Twitter Cards are a way of showing expanded information/previews inside your tweets about your blog posts or products. This will allow Twitter users to discover better content. It provides rich snippets for Tweets and I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks they’re going to be essential for making your content more portable in the future.
How do Twitter Cards it help me and my business?
It makes your content more searchable. Meanwhile, advertisers are able to drive a higher volume of URL clicks. They do this because users are able to preview an image, related context and clear call to action in their timeline before tapping. The main thing is that it’s easy to promote your content and track it.
How do we start using Twitter Cards?
It’s actually quite easy to implement for your site. Just a few lines of HTML and you will be able to effectively track tagged Twitter pages.
How excited should I be?
On a scale of 1-10… 6 or 7 maybe depending on how vital Twitter is to you and your brand. It’s early stages, but something to have in mind. Certainly something to flag up in those social/content discussions, even if you are keeping it on a back burner for now.
